Software everyone should have on their pc

For starters
Mozilla Firefox (web browser) 3.5. When you install it, go and get add ons. I recommend adblock plus (don't see ads anymore), and downthemall (a download accelerator that really works!)
Security software:
Clamwin antivirus
Spybot search and destroy (anti-spyware)
Zone alarm firewall.
Maintenance:
There is an excellent program called tune up utilities. Unfortunately, you have to pay for it. Luckily, i have an activation code for the 2008 version. Download it here. Take note it only works with 2008.

Hello people, id like to add google chrome, a good browser which i am currently using and enjoying.

firefox > chrome IMO

agreed firefox is much better. and why would you add a browser if you already have one on the list?

I'd also like to add the IOBit products. Which have free and pay for versions. They have made many decent products. My favorite is Advanced System Care 3 which can remove spyware, fix registry issues and to defragment your hard drive. An all round diamond of a tool!

Guys this site is friggin awesome. It provides free licenses for stuff you usually have to pay for. Though the licenses are usually only one year it's worth it, and im sure he will release more stuff in the future!

And on top of this there is an active forum group and they also post many freebies as well as helpful computer tips etc.

Perhaps add download managers to the list aswell?

I did. Down them all is a firefox download manager.
However, a great torrenting program i use is frostwire. Check it out.
BTW, tune up utilities pawns iobit, cause i just gave you the unlocking code for a FULL version. Take that!
Oh, and if you don't like msn, you can use pidgin. The awesome thing is it works for hotmail, yahoo, skype, and everything else.

For those that don't like to use firefox/google chrome/etc. and like Internet Explorer, a good download accelerator is FlashGet. Been using it since 2005. This may sound lame but, took me 7mins to download something, while normally it would take 20mins. SimplyPro said it doesn't work for him, so it may not work for you. But there are plenty of other working download accelerators out there. I'm sticking with this.

you may think im stupid but i dont have any sort of anti virus on my pc :/ all i have is that windows firewall lol. I never download videos/games/music etc... anymore and this PC is bare old so theres no point, if anything happened to it then i would buy a new one.

BTW i have zone labs on my laptop i have to say it got me out of trouble here and there.

I reckon Google Chrome is better because the program loads faster than Mozilla in my opinion.
